Accra Great Olympics’ leading marksman Maxwell Abbey-Quaye has reaped the dividend of his sterling display in the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season.

The striker is part of the 30-man who have been handed call-ups by Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Abbey-Quaye, who didn’t make his side’s first game of the season against RTU  as a result of nursing a minor injury came through with a bang of goals, a hat trick in the second game of the season against debutants, Accra Lions and has since not looked behind.

The striker has scored 7 goals in 8 outings for his side, who currently occupy the 7th position on the log.

He will be hoping to catch the eye- of coach Milo and his technical handlers when the squad is further trimmed in the coming weeks for the AFCON tournament in Cameroon,2022.

Black Stars will begin camping on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in Qatar City

Ghana is housed in a group that contains Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
