Accra Lions technical director Ibrahim Tanko has voiced out his views on officiating in the just-ended Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season.

In the last two seasons and more, the league has been marred by a series of officiating issues, with some alleging that club owners, vested parties, and other stakeholders in one way or the other induce referees to sway results to their favour.

Fast forward to this season, the recurrent allegations levelled against match officials seem to have quelled down compared to the previous.

As a result of this, the technical director of Accra Lions, Ibrahim Tanko,  is one of many persons, who is particularly pleased about the progress match officials have made in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season.

“I’m hoping things will go on well next season, in terms of officiating, I think referees performed a bit better as compared to previous seasons,” he said.

Tanko recently received a national team appointment to manage, the Black Meteors,u23 after guiding Accra Lions to a 12th place finish in their debut campaign.
