GPL Match Report: WAFA hands Eleven Wonders first loss of the season

WAFA SC delt Eleven Wonders a serious blow to their fine start to the season in week four of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The duo clubs were coming into this duel following draws to Liberty Professionals and Elmina Sharks respectively.

The home side buoyed by the energetic Ignatius Osei Fosu, who in recent times has caught the eye of many, was looking to lead his charges against a spirited academy oriented setup.

The two sides started off by creating lots of chances but none of them proved successful until young Augustine Boakye slid through on goal made no mistake hitting a superb ball past the goalkeeper in the home side post.

The second half saw Eleven Wonders coach Ignatius Osei Fosu string multiple changes replacing, Michael Tetteh Nortey, George Amponsah, Clement Boahene with Prince Baffoe, Okraku, and Ollenu Ashitey but they failed to make a real impact on the game to the disappointment of the home side.

Prosper Nartey made a solitary change taking out Eric Asamany replacing him with Samson Agyepong to quell off the attacks of the home side which worked to perfection.

The home side will have to regroup heading into week five as they sit 5th pending other results whiles WAFA are up to 2nd with seven points to buttress their stay at the top.
