GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Great Olympics vs Asante Kotoko

The Accra Sports Stadium will see two of the finest clubs Great Olympics and Kumasi Asante Kotoko go head-to-head in what have been hugely publicized as the match of the weekend in round 20 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The home side is coming into this match with mixed feelings, losing to Legon Cities in what many thought would have been an easy coup for them but they succumbed to the struggling side last week.

If there’s any respite for the Dade boys, it’s geared towards the fact that they beat them (Kotoko) in Accra during the first round as well as the motivation to move back to the summit of the table after ceding it to the Kumasi “Galacticos” last week.

Kotoko have impressed under ex-Black Stars manager, Mariano Barreto since his appointment, they are yet to lose a match in three games that he has supervised and this duel will be a test of his managerial credentials.

The absence of Kwame Opoku (USM Algiers) will be a huge loss for the Red faithful but their new prodigy, Francis Kumi, who has scored two in two will inure to the good of the Reds.

This weekend’s clash will be a match for the neutrals and an extra incentive for anyone that picks up all the maximum points on the day.

    Prediction: Great Olympics 2-1 Kotoko
