GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Ashantigold vs Legon Cities

Former Ghana Premier League Champions AshantiGold will quickly move from their narrow defeat away to Medeama SC at the Akoon Park a week ago in a match they clearly dominated proceedings but for indecision in the final third of the pitch, they failed to nick it past the home side.

This weekend, they play against Legon Cities at the Obuasi Ley Clay Sports Stadium in-match they will be highly expected to win to spur their blushes considering they have picked only a win from five matches.

The Aboakese side is 9th on the log with 34 points; a win will help them close the gap on WAFA, Aduana Stars if results are favorable by the end of match proceedings.

Legon Cities on the hand under will pat themselves on the back impressively winning three of their last five duels seeing them ascend to the 11th   on the log.

A win against the Obuasi-based club will see them pip the home side on the log helping them move further away from the relegation belt and breathing a sigh of relief for Bashir Hayford, who was under incessant pressure to deliver the goods with Maxwell Konadu even rumored to be in line to take over the job if results didn’t switch up.

AshGold are a very dominant side at home as such will be heavily dependent on Annor Yaw and Sandan Abagna David who have scored 16 out of 37 goals the club has scored in the league.

Hopefully, this match presents fans an ideal opportunity to witness a flurry of goals considering the first leg ended in a seven goals thriller.

    Prediction: AshantiGold 2-1 Legon Cities
