GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Asante Kotoko vs WAFA

Kotoko will look to extend their lead at the summit of the league for a further week when they take on WAFA at their adopted home turf, Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium.

The home saw their lead at the summit cut to two pints by their fiercest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, when they failed to make it past Liberty, a week ago at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.

The Kumasi-based club have amassed 45 points in total of which 23 have come playing at home; they won’t mind adding three points to it this weekend.

Fabio Gama, Ismail Ganiyu, Francis Kumi have combined efforts to score 9 goals in as many games for the home faithful and they will need to be at their lethal best once again against coach Prosper Narteh’s boys.

WAFA on the other hand are coming into this tightly contested fixture on the back of recording back-to-back wins against Medeama SC and Legon Cities which has seen them ascend the league log to 8th with 38 points having picked 11 points playing away from home.

Interestingly, WAFA have been the far superior side when it comes to matches between the pair, they have picked four wins to the home sides three with the others coming off as draws.

    Predictions: Kotoko 2-1 WAFA SC
