Hearts of Oak’s Gladson Awako has signed a one-year contract extension with the Accra-based club today valid until, 2024.

The experienced figurehead after joining from Great Olympics in what became one of the most talked about transfers took some time off before commencing his football with the club.

This afternoon, the club released a statement that reads, “The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak is pleased to announce that Gladson Awako has extended his contract to 2024”

The 31-year-old becomes the latest player to sign a contract extension after Abdul Aziz Nurudeen, and Richmond Ayi inked new deals this week.

Awako’s rich experience will be heavily relied on by Slavko Matic and the current young squad at his disposal who can learn from the footsteps of one of the decorated players on the local scene.

The skillful midfielder is currently with the Black Galaxies who have since departed the shores of the country to Egypt to continue preparations in lieu of the African Nations Cup in Algeria, in 2023.
