Ghana Premier League: WAFA SC hammer Ashantigold in Sogakope

West African Football Academy Sporting Club were on fire on Sunday as they registered a 6-1 win against Ahsntigold in the Match Week 12 fixture of the Ghana Premier League in Sogakope.




The floodgate opened in the 27th minute when Konadu Yiadom scored a header after connecting with a perfect cross from the corner kick.

Ashantigold however, responded via Amos Kofi Nkruham who connected with a cross from the flanks to level things at Sogakope.

WAFA responded four minutes later and took the lead, thanks to Andrews Ntim who scored from inside the penalty box to give the home team the lead.

WAFA scored their third goal just four minutes into the second half; Sampson Agyapong was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot, Ibrahim Abuakri stepped forward and scored to make it 3-1.

Things went from bad to worse for Ashantigold when Konadu Yiadom scored again to make the scoreline 4-1.

WAFA continued with the goal-scoring as Daniel Owusu joined the party with a great finish after receiving a pass from Eric Asamany to make it 5-1.

Haruna Jalilu Mola scored in the 90th minute after receiving a cross from Atte to make it 6-1 in Sogakope.

WAFA are currently 6th while Ashantigold are 4th on the Ghana Premier League table.
