    Ghana Premier League: Match Week eight preview and predictions

    The Ghana Premier League will enter into its eighth round of matches this midweek, with some interesting ties to look forward to, Accra Hearts of Oak will be at home to Ashanti Gold, whiles Bechem will travel away to Medeama, WAFA will play host to Kotoko as Berekum Chelsea and Karela lock horns at the Golden City Park.



    Legon Cities are yet to win a match against Elmina Sharks but this midweek clash will provide them the avenue to redeem themselves from their slavery to Elmina Sharks. The Sharks have once beaten the Legonites and will look to further deepen their wounds as they battle relegation. The home side were trounced by Karela by a heavy three-goal margin and will look to reduce that when they play Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.

    Ghana Premier League: Karela United thrash Legon Cities

    Until last weekend, Berekum Chelsea were sitting at the summit of the league but their first defeat of the season to Bechem United has seen them cede the position to Aduana Stars. The home side will have another opportunity to redeem themselves as they take on Karela United currently twelfth on the log with eight points. The pair have played only once with the away side winning by a goal to nil.

    Berekum Chelsea 2-0 Karela United

     

    Cape Coast-based side, Ebusua Dwarfs are one of three sides battling relegation, picking their first win at home to Dreams F.C, they play Aduana Stars who are sitting at the summit of the table with sixteen points to their credit in a midweek clash. The pair have played twelve times, Dwarfs (5) have beaten Aduana Stars (4) more with three (3) ending in a draw.

    Elsewhere, Eleven Wonders will be at home to Inter Allies in a midweek clash at the Ohene Ameyaw Park. These two sides are still inconsistent with the results they have picked so far in the league with both accumulating 7 points separated by a position,13th and 15th respectively. Both sides have played thrice (3), with each winning one (1) and the other ending in a draw.

    Ghana Premier League: Inter Allies beat King Faisal in six-goal thriller

    The Ghana Premier League is certainly not for the faint-hearted. These two returnees of the Premier League are not enjoying the best of season after they years of exclusion from the domestic league. Though both sides have been around for a while, they have not played each other in any game. Olympics and King Faisal will give off their best knowing that three points are up for grabs to boast their positions on the league log.

    Traveling away to Kotoko to pick a point will do Dansoman lads Liberty Professionals a world of good as they lock horns with Dreams F. C in a midweek clash at the Accra Sports Stadium. Dreams F. C will still be nursing their home loss against Hearts of Oak over the weekend but will need to snap out of it if they want to win against Liberty. The pair have played 5 matches, Dreams F. C the superior side winning 2 whiles the home faithful have only won one of their previous encounters with two ending in draws.

    Match Preview: Medeama vs Bechem United; Bechem to stun Medeam at home?

    Meanwhile, Tarkwa based Medeama are yet to lose a game at home this season but their recent loss at the hands of former Premier League winners, Aduana Stars will remain fresh in their minds as they take on Bechem United in a midweek fixture.

    Their opponents Bechem United, are the first side to beat “Giant Slayers”, Berekum Chelsea this season, an immense achievement. The away side occupies the fourth (4th) spot with 13 points the same as Medeama who have a better goal advantage. Prince Opoku Agyemang has been in blistering form for his side scoring five goals in seven games of which the away side should be wary of.

    These two promising setups have played fifteen (15) times, Medeama(5) whiles Bechem United have won six (6) of the duels with two (2) ending in a stalemate.

    Preview GHPL Match Week 4: Kotoko enter Medeama’s den as Aduana, Ashgold to stay unbeaten?

    Elsewhere, the Sogakope Red Bull Arena will witness one of the midweeks top liners between WAFA and Kotoko. The two sides come into this encounter occupying the sixth and seventh positions respectively separated by a point.

    In the last few years, WAFA have dominated Kotoko beating them three (3) times already and will be looking to add a fourth (4)th, whiles Kotoko have only won two (2) of the last seven meetings with the home side and the remaining ending in a draw.

    Fresh from beating Dreams F. C at the Dawu Park, Hearts of Oak will be energized as they welcome fellow Premier League side, Ashanti Gold to the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday. The Phobians have picked up 10 points in their last five matches looking to prey on Ashanti Gold when they come shaking the branches of the Oaktree. These two outfits have met fifteen (15) times, Ashanti Gold winning the most, seven (7), while Hearts have only notched five (5) victories with three (3 ) ending in a draw. Ashanti Gold have picked thirteen (13) points from a possible twenty – one (21) and occupies fifth (5) on the league log. Both will need the points badly as they eye the top prize being the Ghana Premier League.
