Ghana Premier League: Match Week 15 Preview

The Ghana Premier League is getting keener and interesting after every matchday as such week fifteen will not be an exception at the match venues all over the country’s football landscape.

The Accra Sports Stadium will see Legon Cities play host to Medema S.C in front of their home faithful. The home side have picked up 5 points from a possible 15 in 5 matches compared to their 11 points from 5 matches playing at home. The Mauve and Yellow boys have 5 points in their last 5 away, coach Samuel Boadu and his boys will be looking to change that narrative as they eye the top prize this season. The home side are lying 13th with 16 points whiles Medeama are still keeping tabs on Aduana at the top spot. Both clubs both have played 15 times, Legon Cities have won 7, Medeama 4 and 4 draws.

    Predictions

    Legon Cities 1 – 1 Medeama S.C

Bechem United welcomes one of their bitter rivals, Aduana Stars in a keenly contested match at the Nana Gyeabour Park in the weekend’s top liner. The home side have not lost a game in the last five games playing at home,11 points from 15 points(DWDWW) whiles the Ogya boys have lost two matches on their travels away hence 7 points (WWLLD) as a result. Both sides have played 14 times, the away side by far the superior of the two winning seven to Bechem’s 3 as well as four draws.

    Predictions

Bechem United 2 –1 Aduana Stars

Berekum Chelsea are two places shy of the summit of the league after fifteen rounds of games but face a wounded opposition in WAFA S.C, who lost to Aduana through a Yahaya Mohammed goal at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.  The home side are beaming with confidence after their last home win, picking 10 points from 15 (WWLWD). The Academy boys have taken 6 points from their last 5 away games, boasting them to 9th with 19 points. The away side have won four out of the seven duels played together, Berekum Chelsea winning the other.

    Prediction

    Berekum Chelsea 2-0 WAFA S.C

Currently lying 11th on the ongoing league season is Eleven Wonders with 11 points from a total of 42 points, Ebusua dwarfs are one of three sides battling relegation in the ongoing league season with 14 points. The Cape Coast based outfit have notched only a point from a total of 15 points in their last 5 away games. These sides have locked horns three times in past seasons with the crabs winning two as well as the home side winning the other one. Both teams come into this fixture knowing very well all three points are at stake.

    Prediction

    Eleven Wonders 2 – 1 Ebusua Dwarfs

In Accra, it’s a regional derby between Accra Great Olympics and Liberty. Both sides are coming into this fixture after losing to Hearts and Inter Allies respectively. The Dade boys have picked 6 points at home whiles Liberty have not found their away travels rosy losing three of their last five and taking just four points. Since 2015, Olympics have won two, Liberty one and the other one in ending in a draw.

     Prediction

     Olympics 1-1 Liberty

If to say after 15 rounds of games, Elmina Sharks will be in the top six no one would have ever anticipated that but Yaw Acheampong has so masterminded the club’s good fortunes so far to the top half of the league. His side have not lost a game in the last 5 matches playing home and away. Dawu based are on a purple patch in most of their away games, amassing just 5 points in as many matches. Both sides have won each of three duels the other in a stalemate.

     Prediction

    Elmina Sharks 2–0 Dreams F.C

Tarkwa based Karela United are not having the best of the season after in the ongoing campaign. The home side have won only one match at home, spelling doom for Coach Enos Adepa and his charges. AshGold were once on the summit of the league but their last few games have been nothing short of dismal after two losses to Bechem and heavy battering at the hands of WAFA. They have since picked only 3 points in their away conquest something Thomas Duah must change moving forward if huis side is to have any real sniff at the premier league crown. Both sides have won one of the two fixtures involved.

    Prediction

    Karela 1 – 0 AshGold

King Faisal one of the three returnees of the ongoing league lying last on the log with 6 points. They have picked only four points playing at home, (DDDLD) compared to Hearts of Oak, who are better travelers managing nine points from 15 in their last 5 games (DDDWW). These two premier clubs have played 6 times in the past few seasons with the Phobia boys winning three matches and the remaining ending in draws. If Grunsah’s babes want to stay in the league they will have to start winning matches against a reinvigorated Hearts side on the high after thrashing Olympics in midweek.

    Prediction

    King Faisal 0- 2 Hearts

Inter Allies and Kotoko will clash yet again in the ongoing Ghana Premier League. Both sides come into this fixture with a different set of objectives. The Capelli boys are brewing with confidence after beating city rival’s liberty buoyed by the predatory Victorien Adebayor, who has since attracted lots of interest both locally and internationally for his fine display of goal scoring abilities since the start of the league season. The away side in Kotoko managed by Maxwell Konadu are 4th on the log heading into this fixture with 25 points. Their away form guide has been very good, (WLWDW) and this duel at the nations Wembley should definitely live up to its billing.

    Predictions

    Inter Allies 1 -1 Kotoko
