French club Girondins de Bordeaux have completed the signing of young Ghanaian left-back, Gideon Mensah on a season-long loan from Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg with a permanent option.

The Ligue 1 side announced the deal on Tuesday, after several months of intensive negotiations with the player’s representatives and his parent club.

The enterprising full-back is young but well-traveled across Europe, having had spells at Sturm Graz, Zulte Waregem, Liefering, and Vitoria Guimaraes where he made over 20 appearances for them in the Primeira Liga.

The 23-year-old is expected to take up the number 14 shirt and help his new side under Gérard Lopez in the upcoming season to better their 12th place finish in the Ligue 1.
