Ghana Football mourns with Offinso based colts club after ghastly accident

Ghana football has been thrown into a massive sorrowful state after a juvenile based club, Africa Vision Soccer Academy’s bus was involved in a ghastly accident.

The unfortunate situation transpired on Saturday, as the minibus carrying over 30 youth players was said to have had its front tire damaged hence the driver losing grip of his wheels before ending up in the nearby Ofinso river.

According to reports, the colts team and their handlers were returning to Afrancho from Offinso after undergoing their District Colts football registration before some met their untimely death and injuries.

Unfortunately, six of the young aspiring footballers died on the spot leaving the others to be transferred to the St. Patrick Hospital in Offinso for further assessment.

The lifeless bodies were recovered from the river as people in the nearby towns rushed to the scene to offer their help.

In a related development, a team of officials from the Ghana Football Association have paid a visit to the injured members of these young ones involved in the accident on Saturday.

The delegation comprises of Ashanti RFA Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang, Exco member Fred Acheampong, NJC member Aminu Abdullahi and Samuel Otoo of the Ashanti RFA were at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi on Sunday morning.

The delegation will also pay a visit to the families of the bereaved on a later date to sympathize with them in these very difficult times.
