Black Stars Otto Addo is upbeat about the “dangers” of recruiting new players into the senior national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Prior to Ghana’s friendly game against Brazil, some players of Ghanaian descent switched allegiance in order to play for the country.

Spanish-based, Inaki Williams, English-based, Tariq Lamptey, and  Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer and Stephan Ambrosius Williams were amongst the players to be handed call-ups by Otto Addo and his technical team.

In a recent interview, Otto Addo disclosed that it’s always dangerous getting a new player into the squad.

“It’s always a danger to get new players, especially if the players who are there before achieved something really, really good,”

“There’s a group dynamic which I don’t want to break, but I think from what I saw they were welcomed well.

“They did well in training and get along with each other and it’s not like they were strangers. Before some knew each other from playing in the same league and everything is okay.” He ended.

Ghana have touched base in Spain and are in line to play Nicaragua in their second pre-World Cup friendly with Otto Addo expected to hand major debuts to a new string of players on Tuesday.
