    Ghana budget for the 2022 World Cup revealed

    The Sports Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has disclosed how much will be spent on the Ghana BlackStars ahead of the FIFA World Cup slated for Qatar. 



    Ghana’s total expenditure for the group stage is in excess of $8m for the World Cup tournament.

    According to the Sports Minister, a combined total of $14,184,100 is likely to be spent on the team if they progress from the group stages all the way to the quarter-finals.



    The abovementioned amount will include appearance fees, bonuses, perdiems, & logistics among others. Each players will receive $10k for appearance.

    Mr. Ussif stated that although FIFA will give each participating country $9 million at group stages, Ghana’s total expenditure for the group stage is $8,166,200 which will go up to $8,792,600 if GhanaBlackstars makes progress from group stage.

    Ghana qualified over Nigeria in over two legs to secure qualifications for their fourth participation in the global tournament. 

    Ghana is housed in a group that contains Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
