The GFA Executive Council is set to hold a crunch emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the recent wave of crowd violence in the ongoing domestic league.

This meeting has become necessary as a result of fans descending on match officials for a decision they thought went against their team in a match between BA United and Real Tamale United.

Fans of BA United thronged the pitch, throwing missiles and chasing center referee Maxwell Hanson for awarding a penalty against the home side.

There are several incidences that could be cited, Wamanafo, Ainynase, Dawu amongst others that have happened in the Premier League and Division one.

The rates at which these issues are cropping up have prompted the football association to take steps to correct this growing phenomenon.

Hopefully, the football association takes drastic steps in finding a lasting solution to the spate at which crowd violence is disrupting the beautiful game.
