Defending World Champions, France defeats Morocco 2-0 to reach back to back World Cup Finals.

It took  France just 5 minutes  to silence the overwhelmingly pro-Morocco crowd at Al Bayt Stadium as Theo Hernández put the defending World Champions ahead.

This was the first time Morocco had trailed in the tournament and also the first goal conceded from an opposition player.

Morocco’s best chance  to score came in the 43rd minute. Jawad El Yamiq had a beautiful bicycle kick off a corner kick but Hugo Lloris was up to the task, pushing it away.

Morocco started the second half with renewed energy and enthusiasm however, France doubled their lead in the 79th minute.

A moment of magic from Mbappe set up Randal Kolo Muani who calmly finished the beautiful move to give France a 2-0 lead.

France is heading back to the World Cup Final with the hope of repeating a back to back World Cup victories. This  hasn’t been done in 60 years.

France will take on Argentina in the final on Sunday.
