FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Ghana to face Mali in Group I; see full draw

The FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers took place on Thursday and Ghana Black Stars got a clear idea of the countries they will be facing in their quest to make it to the next edition of the World Cup.



Ghana will face Mali, Madagascar, Central Africa Republic, Comoros, and Chad in the qualifying series for the global showpiece.

Ghana was in Pot 2 ahead of the draw which took place in Ivory Coast during the CAF 45th Ordinary General Assembly due to being outside the top 10 places in the FIFA Rankings.

The group winners will automatically secure their places at the tournament which will jointly be hosted by the USA, Mexico and Canada.

The four best runners-up will compete in a mini-tournament and the winner will make an intercontinental play-off.

Group A: Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Djibouti

Group B: Senegal, Congo DR, Mauritania, Togo, Sudan, South Sudan

Group C: Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Lesotho

Group D: Cameroon, Cape Verde, Angola, Libya, Swaziland, Mauritius

Group E: Morocco, Zambia, Congo, Tanzania, Niger, Eritrea

Group F: Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Kenya, The Gambia, Burundi, Seychelles

Group G: Algeria, Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana, Somalia

Group H: Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Malawi, Liberia, São Tomé
