Al Ahly (Egypt) was housed in group A alongside, Palmeiras, Inter Miami and FC Porto. In the end they basked, two points from three games and finished button in the group.
Esperance de Tunis lost to Flamengo in the opening game but recovered well to beat Los Angeles FC but lost heavily to Chelsea in the final group game. They finished 3rd with three points and a goal deficit of four.

Wydad Casablanca of Morocco’s story in the tournament was dismal as it gets, they lost all three of their group encounters to Man City, Juventus and Al Ain and conceded 8 goals.
