FIFA approves 26-player World Cup squads

FIFA have approved 26-player World Cup squads and Five subs for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

In the past, countries that got the nod to participate in international competitions of high magnitude were at liberty to name 23 squad players but after numerous concerns over player welfare, massive congestion of matches, and the impact of the Covid-19 the squad numbers have been increased to 26.

With this new development, it means that Ghana Blackstars led by Otto Addo and his technical will be afforded the opportunity to name 26 players for the upcoming global tournament in Qatar and make as many as 5 changes during a game in the tournament.

Ghana is making its 4th bow at the World Cup after edging out Nigeria in a two-legged tie in Match.

Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea are Ghana’s group opponents for the group stages of the global showpiece in Qatar.
