Ghanaian forward, Emmanuel Boateng has rejoined his former side, Rio Ave FC in the Primeira Liga, Portugal following an announcement by the club on Tuesday.

Boateng penned down a two-year deal with the Portuguese side after he left Chinese side Dalian Yifang as a free agent this summer.

The forward spent three seasons in the Chinese Super League where he scored 11 goals in 37 appearances during his stay with the club.

Prior to his big money move to China, he largely led the attacking lines for Levante in his two-year period with the club, where he found the back of the net 7 times in 41 outings in the Spanish La Liga

Boateng will hope the return to his former side will give him enough room to impress the new handlers of the Ghana Blackstars as the team heads to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar slated for November 2022.
