I don’t think Kotoko were better than us – Berekum coach Randolf Armah

Berekum Chelsea lost 2-0 to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday and their coach Randolf Armah believes Kotoko were not better than his team despite the scoreline.

Goals from Emmanuel Gyamfi and Abdul Fatawu secured Kotoko’s fourth win of the competition as they maintain the top spot in the group table.

After the game, Berekum Chelsea coach played down the performance of the home team and insisted that his team did very well even when they were two goals down.

“ We did well, we could have built on from our good start of the game but we didn’t, my players lost control of the game, Kotoko took control of the second half and were the better team for most of the second period.

“I don’t think Kotoko were better than us overall though, we could’ve done more for ourselves. I congratulate my team for not crumbling even when Kotoko scored two, we have a lot of positives and a few minor mistakes that we will go back and correct.”

Randolf Armah also believes that the referee made the wrong call when he awarded a penalty kick to Asante Kotoko

“The penalty was not a penalty he clearly misread the collision to be a foul when it wasn’t, he could have given himself ample time to think that decision through. Apart from that, the referee had a good game.
