CK Akonnor handed two years contract as Black Stars coach

Charles Kwabla Akonnor has been officially appointed as head coach of the senior national team of the country, Blackstars.

The former Kotoko gaffer took over the head coach position after serving as assistant to the then head coach James Kwesi Appiah, who was let go after failing to land a contract renewal with the new GFA headed by Kurt Okraku.

Akunnor was handed a two (2) year contract and will receive $25,000 as a monthly salary,$10,000 short of what made the former manager was receiving at the time in that role as coach of the Blackstars.

The 46-year-old will be assisted by David Duncan, who has loads of experience managing top sides in Hearts, Kotoko, Ashgold as well as other national sides of the country.

Coach CK Akonnor has been tasked to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
