CK Akonnor challenges Kotoko players to prove their worth

Kotoko coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has bemoaned his side’s woeful display in recent games that have seen the Porcupines pick two points from a possible nine.

Akonnor’s side dropped points on Sunday with a 1-0 loss at Ashgold in a game in which the lads failed to create decent openings and barely recorded a shot a goal.

The game follows two drawn results at Berekum Chelsea and at home to Bechem United for Kotoko, who have been missing several key players.

“I must be honest, those guys, who were not playing when we were playing in the Confederation Cup, they were complaining, and now I have given a lot of them the chance and they have not been able to improve their game. It is not too good,” said C.K Akonnor.

“Sometimes, their inability to control the game and we’ve had a lot of experienced players and I think it is important that they show why they should have played in the Confederation Cup.”

“This is the time for them to show me what they’ve got. unfortunately, in our last couple of matches, it hasn’t gone well. I am not too happy and think we should improve on that.”

“We are aware that we have lost some key players, but that shouldn’t be an excuse,” C.K Akonnor concluded.
