    Ghana Premier League champions, Samartex failed to beat Morocco club, Raja Casablanca in the qualifying series of the CAF Champions League.

     



    The four-goal thriller ended 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

    The Ghanaian club making their debut in the competition posted a 2-0 win over Victoria United in a two-legged affair to secure qualification to the next round of the competition.

    Prolific forward Michael Ephson found the back of the net twice in seven minutes, 37th and 44th minute respectively to aid his side into the lead.

    In the 64th minute, a seamless breathtaking pattern of playing allowed the visitors to cut through the spineless defense of the host with cheeky ease as they leveled up through, Mohammed Boulacsout.

    The Timber boys will hope to give a good account of themselves in the return leg against Raja Casablanca on September,21,2024 at the Stade Mohammed V in Morocco.
