    CAF CL: CAF approves Accra Sports Stadium for FC Samartex home matches

    FC Samartex have had the Accra Sports Stadium approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for their home games.

     



    The Samreboi-based side club won the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League against all odds in a league boasting Hearts of Oak, Kotoko, Medeama SC, Aduana Stars, and others.

    They won seventeen games at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena by far the most points, 48.

    Their triumph will see them represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League as they play Victoria United Football Club over two legs, 16 and 25 August in Limbé and Accra.

    The Accra Sports Stadium will play host to the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League games.

    The Timber Giants have reinforced their squad with, Baba Kushibo, Kofi Agbesima, Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli, Japheth Norvienyo, Isaac Baffoe, Akwasi Sarpong in the absence of, Dauda Yussif Seidu, Emmanuel Keyekeh who have left to seek greener pastures.
