    CAF Champions League : Medeama SC seal historic qualification over Horoya

    Ghana Premier League outfit, Medeama SC progressed 4-3 on aggregate at the expense of their Guinea opponents, Horoya SC in the CAF Champions League second leg.



    The home side thrashed their opponents a week ago with goals from, Nana Kwesi Babil, Nurudeen Abdulai, and Kofi Asmah with a consolation from Mohammed Lamine Fofana.  

    Jonathan Sowah continued his fine scoring form for the Tarkwa-based club as he expertly converted a penalty in the 24th minute of the game.

    Two minutes later, the Guinea side, got in on the action as Mandela Ocansey got the equalizer for his club to tie the first half at 1-1.

    In the 76th minute, Mohammed Keita doubled the lead for Horoya to set up a frantic end to the game but the Ghanaian side held on to their slender win to progress to the group stages. 

    This historic qualification feat will see Ghana’s sole representative in the CAF Champions basks $550,000 for reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time in its history.
