Cabfix Ladies ended their historic campaign in the maiden FIFA-backed U-15 Girls Regional Colts League in the Greater Accra Region with a silver medal finish after a hard-fought defeat to Epiphany Next Gen in the final.
The much-anticipated final, which had suffered several postponements, was finally played on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf, where Epiphany Next Gen secured a 2-0 victory to become the first champions of the competition.
Epiphany took control early in the contest, scoring once in the first half before adding a second goal late in the second half to seal the win.
Cabfix Ladies, however, remained competitive throughout the contest, showing resilience and determination as they pushed for an equalizer before finally conceding a second goal in the closing moments of the match, shortly before the final whistle.
Despite missing out on the ultimate prize, Cabfix Ladies were rewarded with silver medals for their impressive run in the competition, having emerged as one of the standout teams of the tournament.
The Ablekuma-based side reached the final after topping Group B with 16 points, producing one of the most exciting attacking displays of the competition. They recorded big wins, including victories over Ga West Ladies and Rock Ladies, while also showcasing the quality of their young talents.
One of the major highlights of Cabfix Ladies’ campaign was captain Jessica Benni, who finished the tournament as the leading scorer with 12 goals. Benni returned to the team after international duty with Ghana’s Black Damsels, where she was part of the squad that successfully defended the CAF African Schools Football Championship title in Zimbabwe.
The final also marked a new beginning for Cabfix Ladies, as it was the first competitive match for new Head Coach Sarah Humble Ayimedu. The CAF-licensed coach took charge of the team following the departure of Coach Nani, who had guided the players through the early stages of the competition.
Epiphany Next Gen on the other hand ended the competition with a perfect record, having won all six of their matches in Group A to finish with 18 points before beating Cabfix Ladies FC in the final to lift the trophy.
The maiden FIFA-backed U-15 Girls Regional Colts League in the Greater Accra Region has provided an important platform for the development of young talents, while highlighting the growing potential of youth women’s football in the region.
