Abdul Karim Zito has resigned from his role as Kotoko head coach following a poor string of results.
Reports of his departure went rife after the team lost their ticket to defend the MTN FA Cup, losing to Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The game ended goalless after a long, bursting ninety minutes and needed penalties to separate the two teams, with the traveling side edging it 4-2.
The results, as well as the team’s performance in the league, are said to have culminated in his resignation.
During his tenure as head coach, he supervised a total of 37 games, 19 wins, 11 draws, 7 losses, 19 clean sheets, 50 goals scored, and 31 conceded with a win percentage of 51.35%
He also chalked important milestones with the club by winning the 2025 MTN FA Cup, Super Cup, Toyota Cup, and Presidents Cup.
The downside to his tenure saw him eliminated in the CAF Confederation Cup by Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, the MTN FA Cup, and trail MedeamaSC by 8 points, making their chances of winning the league slender.
