Breaking: Dortmund allow Otto Addo to take Black Stars job

German outfit  Borussia Dortmund has granted Otto Addo permission to lead as Black Stars coach while keeping his role as youth development coach of the club.

The 46-year-old’s appointment was a standstill with the football association his club which has been resolved for him to take the job to manage the senior national team of Ghana.

“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September and also the World Cup,” Addo said in a podcast of Hamburger Abendblatt.

The country’s football federation is set to hand the ex-Dortmund player a deal that will see him lead the Black Stars in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers as well as the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He will also be in charge of the team if Ghana qualifies for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Otto Addo led the team in the qualifying games against the Super Eagles of Nigeria and managed to qualify the nation for the World Cup.
