    Black Stars midfielder Kofi Kyereh undergoes successful surgery

    Ghana and Freiburg playmaker, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has undergone successful surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, which he suffered whiles training with the club.



    The player, who has missed the last few weeks of football action for the club underwent a successful surgery today.

    In a club statement disclosing the player’s surgery, portions of the statement read, “Kofi Kyereh tore his cruciate ligament in training and will be out for the rest of the season,” SC Freiburg, the club of the Black Stars forward said on Friday, February 10.



    The cub statement further explained, “In Thursday’s training, Kofi Kyereh twisted his knee in a duel. An examination in the Freiburg University Hospital resulted in the diagnosis of a cruciate ligament rupture. An operation is to follow in the next few days. The attacking player will no longer be available this season.

    “We wish Kofi a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!”

    The enterprising playmaker will miss the rest of the season for Freiburg as well Ghana’s doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
