The Ghana women’s national team in Dubai is “safe but worried” amid the ongoing US-Iran fallout in the region.
The team played a friendly against Hong Kong on Saturday as part of the ongoing Pink Ladies Invitational tournament to fine tune their preparations ahead of the 2026 WAFCON slated for Morocco.
They managed to beat them by four goals to nil, with the goals from Princess Marfo, Doris Boaduwaa, Chantelle Boye, and Zakaria.
The team was billed to play their second game
All 25 players & 16 staff told to pack for possible immediate evacuation.

The team was billed to play their second game against Russia and later Tanzania until the unrest between Iran and the US led to multiple attacks on US military base camps in the Gulf region.
In the meantime, Officials from the Ghana mission in the UAE have paid a visit to the team in camp.
The delegation, made up of Consul and Head of Chancery Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai, Consular Officer Percy Okudzeto, and Head of Transport Anas Shaibu, visited us to assure us of the government’s support and commitment to the team’s safety and welfare.
