Ghana’s Black Queens have received their revised roadmap for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with the team set to begin their continental campaign against Cape Verde on Wednesday, July 29.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has adjusted the tournament schedule, with Ghana now based in Casablanca after the team’s camp was moved from Fez.
Kim Lars Björkegren’s side will open their Group C campaign at the Moulay Rachid Stadium against Cape Verde, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
The Black Queens will return to action on Sunday, August 2, for a crucial encounter against Cameroon at the same venue and time, before concluding the group stage against Mali on Thursday, August 6, at 20:00 GMT.
Ahead of the tournament, which runs from July 25 to August 16, 2026, coach Björkegren has named a 27-player provisional squad as preparations intensify.
The squad combines experience and emerging talent, with several key figures expected to lead Ghana’s charge, including captain Portia Boakye, Grace Asantewaa, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Princess Marfo, Stella Nyamekye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Princella Adubea.
There is also continued recognition for players from Ghana’s domestic league, with Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies earning places on the provisional list.
The Black Queens will now intensify preparations as they aim for a strong showing in Morocco, while also chasing qualification to the FIFA Women’s World Cup and a return to the top of African women’s football.
