Berekum Chelsea made light work of defending champions, Kotoko in week twenty-six of the ongoing betPawa Premier League at the Golden City Park, Berekum.

The host have built a solid home reputation and were looking to add, the record holders of the league to their pile of prey in the early kick-off on Friday afternoon in Berekum.

The Biribies started the game on the front foot, they made their intention as early as the fifth minute as Stephen Amankonah’s shot hit the post of Danlad Ibrahim sparring, and the away side’s blushes in the game.

The away side made chances off their own as, Isaac Oppong’s delightful cross to the Cameroonian striker, George Mfegue was miscued for a goal kick to the host.

Moments later, Steven Mukwala and Richmond Lamptey got in on the action but their efforts at breaking the deadlock did little to trouble, Emmanuel Adu in post for Berekum Chelsea.

Referee, Maxwell Hanson handling his seventh game of the league blew for the closure of the first half.

In the 50th minute, a well-threaded cross from Collins Ameyaw found the head of Ouattara Kalo, who nodded in beautifully beyond the reach of Danlad to send the home fans into ruptures.

Kalo towered high in the Kotoko defense to register his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute of the game as he got on to a cross from Collins Ameyaw yet again.

Patrick Ansu added the icing on the cake, five minutes to end proceedings to end any hopes of the Porcupine Warriors coming back into the game.

The results see, the Bibires up to 8th on the log with 37 points, while Kotoko remains 5th momentarily pending other games.
