Ghanaian midfielder, Benjamin Afutu-Kotey has had his contract abrogated by Egyptian side, Eastern Company Sporting Club.

The combative midfielder left the shores of the country in October to sign a three-year deal with the newly-promoted side after walking as a free agent from former Ghana Premier League champions, Hearts of Oak.

Afutu failed to command regularly playing time at his new side, which meant he featured in only 7 outings for them in the ongoing league, where they lay at the bottom of the league with Zamalek topping the charts.

It remains unclear if Afutu will join any Ghana Premier League side when he touches down or may join another foreign club in the coming weeks.
