The Airport Police have detained Elvis Herman Hesse, the Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak’s National Chapters Committee (NCC). This comes in response to a formal complaint made by Vincent Sowah Odotei, a board member for Accra Hearts of Oak. After the Phobians were eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday evening, both men could be seen engaged in a heated argument at the Accra Sports Stadium. Mr. Kurt Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association, was re-elected as president of the West African Football Union’s Zone B. (WAFU). The Ghana FA president was re-elected by acclamation during the electoral congress held in Cote d’Ivoire. Former Karela United player, Umar Bashiru has penned down a one-year contract with Ethiopian Insurance Corporation FC. The 25-year old towering midfielder cut a career for himself in the Ghana Premier League with Karela United following a failed stint with Kotoko. During his time with Karela United, he helped them to admirable finishes in the Ghana Premier League and it’s no doubt that his outstanding displays earned him a call-up to the Black Galaxies.  In the Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season he scored 13 goals in 33 outings to help Karela to a top-6 finish. 

Ghana’s teenage sensation, Lawrence Agyekum made his senior debut for Austrian club, RB Salzburg in a five goals thriller away to Altach in the Admiral Bundesliga. The 18-year-old midfielder was introduced in the 61st minute as a replacement for Sekou Koita Adamu at the Cashpoint Arena. Former Ghana Premier League champions, Accra Hearts of Oak suffered a major blip in their first leg preliminary stages of the CAF Confederations Cup after losing 3-0 to Malian side, Real Bamako at the Stade Modibo Keita.
