Burkinabe side, Rail Club du Kadiogo, and Ghana Premier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will go head-to-head in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round on Monday,12, September instead of the initial September 9, 2022, at Stade de l’amitié Mathieu Kérékou in Kouhounou, Benin.

This is because the initial venue, Stade de Kadiogo Ouagadougou in Yamoussoukro failed to meet CAF’s requirements and the Burkinabè Football Authority were unable to release the new 20,000-capacity Stade de Yamoussoukro since it was under maintenance.

Because of this, the Burkinabe side, who are making a return to continental football in almost two decades will look to advance past the opening round against their Ghanaian opponents.

Meanwhile, Kotoko will look to make their mark in the opening round of games following their inability to make their mark after failing to qualify for the CAF Champions League last season.
