Asante Kotoko beat Rahimo FC in friendly encounter

Asante Kotoko were victorious in their first pre-season friendly game against Burkinabe side Rahimo FC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, the game ended 2-1.




Asante Kotoko found themselves behind in the 35th minute of the first half after Rahimo FC took the lead after a fine finish.

The Porcupines fought back in the second half to get back into the game. Substitute Martin Antwi equalized for his team in the 70th minute after heading in Augustine Sefah’s cross.

Kotoko controlled the game and searched for the winner and finally got it in the 90th minute through new signing Kelvin Andoh who converted another cross from Augustine Sefah to give the Porcupines a win.

New coach Kjetil Zachariassen will be delighted with his team performance as they continue preparing for the upcoming campaign.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will play Kano Pillars of Nigeria in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League.
