Black Satellites won over the Central African Republic at the Suez Canal Stadium to qualify for the quarter-finals of the ongoing AFCON U20 tournament.

The West African side needed just a point to cement their place in the next round after picking four points from six, and had it all to do in the final game.

Head coach Desmond Ofei runged five changes to the side that beat Senegal.

The first half passed with no goals separating the two sides, though they both went at each other for the breakthrough goal.

Joseph Opoku and Hayford Boahen came on for Sulemana Abdul and Lord Afrifa in the 73rd minute of the game.

Eleven minutes later, after that change, Joseph Opoku seized the moment, dancing his way past the opposition defenders and squaring the ball past goalkeeper, Boarnages Malimoto for the game’s opener.

The Black Satellites finish as group toppers with 7 points, followed by Senegal with five, DR Congo with 4, and the Central African Republic with a point.
