    In a twisted turn of events, eight BlackStars players have withdrawn from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

     



    The eight players’ non-participation in the upcoming assembling of players towards the 2025 AFCON qualifying series is due to varied reasons.

    Alexandre Djiku, Inaki Williams, and Antoine Semenyo are among the eight players who cannot make it to camp. The others are Jonas Adjetey, Tariq Lamptey, Jerome Opoku, Ibrahim Osman, and Joseph Painstil.

    Inaki Williams –  Hamstring injury

    Alexander Djiku – hamstring injury

    Ibrahim Osman – hamstring injury

    Tariq Lamptey –  Calf discomfort

    Jonas Adjetey – injury setback

    Jerome Opoku –  Chronic back pain

    Antoine Semenyo – patella tendon injury

    Saharafootball.net understands that the technical team is eyeing up calling replacements for the injured players to beef up the squad against, Angola in Luanda on October 15, and later Niger three days later, in Accra.
