Morocco and Senegal are set to renew hostilities when the pair clash in the final of the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
Both semi-finals were played on Wednesday, January 14, 2025, in Tangier and Rabat, respectively.
Saido Mane’s goal with a quarter to finish the game was enough for Senegal to book one of two slots for the AFCON final with a narrow 1–0 victory over Egypt, ending the Pharaohs’ run of extending their seventh continental title to eight.

In the evening of the same night, Morocco came up against Nigeria for a slot in the finals to face Senegal.
Both teams tarried all night for a breakthrough in 120 minutes at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, but there was no goal to separate them in the interval, with the game heading to penalties.
Morocco converted four of their five penalties to Nigeria’s two, which aided them to their first final since 2004 as they lost 2-1 to then host nation, Tunisia.
They will be hoping to lift the trophy on home soil since their last time in 1976.
Egypt and Nigeria will contest the third-place play-off on Saturday, 17 January, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
The AFCON 2025 final will be played on Sunday, 18 January, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
