The Black Stars failed to win against Angola in the qualifying series for the  2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.

The Ghanaian side drew 1-1 in a game that tended to change their fate in the penultimate round of games for Morocco.

Jordan Ayew’s well-struck free-kick gave the visitors the lead in the 18th minute.

    HIGHLIGHTS :

The host was offered a lifeline after Gideon Mensah clumsily brought down Zito Luvumbo in the box for a penalty.

Ghanaian goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen stood his ground to deny RC Lens forward M’Bala Nzola the opportunity of an equalizer.

Substitute Zini Cabaca Salvador got on the end of Joao Felicio Milson’s cross to punch his side’s leveller leaving both teams scavenging for a win.

The BlackStars will play Niger in the last round game, a game that will hold no bearing and will mean they are out of contention for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, the first in 20 years.
