Ghana international Thomas Partey is racing against time to be fit for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after he recently suffered a new injury blow.

Partey, 30, underwent a specialized procedure for a thigh injury, putting his participation in the tournament in serious doubt.

This is not the first time, the talented midfielder has had issues with injuries, he has been out of the treatment room on several occasions and has been a huge miss for his English side, Arsenal, and home country, Ghana.

As a result of Partey’s injury, he missed out on Chris Hughton’s final squad list for the double-header against World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros this month.

It’s unclear when the midfield gem will return to action but as things stand, his participation for this year,2023 is over and will race against time to be fit for the BlackStars as they gear towards the AFCON tournament slated for Ivory Coast.
