    Ghana will open their campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny


    The BlackStars have flattered to deceive in recent tournaments that they have partaken in, Round of 16 in 2019, and couldn’t make it past the group stages in 2021.

    They will certainly be hoping that this time they present a different makeup to how they have approached previous tournaments.

    In Chris Hughton’s pre-game conference, he spoke of the team’s readiness to play at a high level that will see them win games, hopefully, it comes to bear in the opening game. 

    Ghana are better placed when it comes to their head-to-head duels against Cape Verde, having won, four, drawn one, and lost the other should engineer them on the victory.

    The Blue Sharks will not be easy prey for the Blackstars to feed on in a game that will kick off at 20:00 GMT.
