Accra Great Olympics defeat Kotoku Royals 2-0 to go a point above the relegation zone

At the WAFA Stadium on Sunday, Great Olympics defeated Kotoku Royals 2-0 in a match that was considered a battle for survival, allowing them to move out of the relegation zone.

The Wonder Club scored a goal in each half to earn a hard-fought victory over the bottom-placed Kotoku Royals.

In the first half, both teams were determined to avoid defeat, and it appeared to be heading toward a draw, but Isaac Mensah scored a goal in 44 minutes to put Great Olympics in the lead.

In the 54th minute of the game, Michael Osei doubled their lead, and Great Olympics held on to their two-goal advantage to secure all three crucial points, lifting them a place and a point above the danger zone.

For Kotoku Royals, the defeat could result in their relegation from the top flight as they are currently 13 points behind the second-to-last team with just four games remaining.
