Former ManUtd player Dwight Yorke has firmed up his interest in the vacant Ghana national team head coach position.
The former Trinidad and Tobago striker, speaking to Asempa FM.
“It is a job that most top coaches will be interested in because of the history of Ghanaian football,”
“I have friends like Sammy Kuffour, and he speaks highly of Ghanaian football, so I am very much interested in the Ghana coaching job.” – he said
Yorke, a key member of Manchester United’s 1999 treble-winning side and holder of a UEFA Pro Licence, previously managed Macarthur FC in Australia and the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
A five-member search committee has been set-up by the Ghana Football Association and the Sports Ministry after Carlos Queiroz resigned following a poor start to 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
The Black Stars of Ghana sit bottom of their group with no points after defeats to Ivory Coast and The Gambia.
