The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation have constituted a five-member Search Committee to lead the recruitment of a new head coach for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The decision was reached following a meeting between the leadership of the GFA and the Ministry on Friday, October 2, 2026, in Accra.
The committee will be chaired by former GFA Vice-President Fred Pappoe, who will lead the process of identifying and assessing candidates for the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
Pappoe will be supported by four other members with backgrounds in football administration, playing, law and high-performance management.
They are Anthony Baffoe, General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and former Ghana international; Agbesi Dzakpasu, a legal practitioner and football administrator; Stephen Appiah, former Black Stars captain; and Faisal Chibsah, a high-performance specialist.
They are expected to identify, evaluate and recommend a suitable candidate for the vacant Black Stars coaching role.
