Central African Republic coach Raoul Savoy is confident that his side can pull an upset in the final round of qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Ghana.

The away side would have been presented with an arduous task against Ghana and anything bar a victory would see their hopes of qualification crashed.

Mas-Ud Didi Dramani named head coach of Black Galaxies

Savoy acknowledges the mammoth task on his hands but remains highly optimistic that they can beat Ghana to book a place for next year’s games in Ivory Coast.

“No. We don’t fear Ghana but we have to respect all the players, this country Ghana, and of course the Black Stars. It is not a question of fear but a question of respect,” he opined in an interview with Ghanasportspage.

Chris Haughton’s twenty-five-man squad is without deputy captain, Thomas Partey(groin) Daniel Amartey, Majeed Ashimeru, Kamal Deen Sulemana (hamstring), Joseph Wollacott (quadriceps).

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca impressed with Fatawu Issahaku’s debut display

Ghana tops the pack with nine points, Angola with eight points, and the Central African Republic with seven points while Madagascar has two [points from five games.
