Ghanaian striker, Zuberu Sharani scored the match winner for  Slovan Bratislava in their 1-0 win over Zrinjski in the  UCL qualifiers.

In the UEFA Champions League qualifications on Tuesday evening, Zuberu Sharani, the Ghanaian forward, played a crucial role in helping Slovan Bratislava secure a first leg advantage.

The Slovakian team managed to secure a 1-0 victory against Bosnian champions HŠK Zrinjski Mostar at the Stadion pod Bijelim Brijegom.

Sharani was the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal in the second half. He rose above the defense to head in a corner-kick delivered by Brazilian defender Lucas Lovat.

With this crucial win, Slovan will take the advantage into the second leg next week, where they will face HŠK Zrinjski Mostar again, this time playing as hosts at either the Tehelné pole or the Slovakia National Stadium in Bratislava.

Ghanaian striker Malik Abubakari also contributed to the game, coming on as a substitute in the 67th minute, replacing Marko Tolic.

Meanwhile, Sharani was substituted in the 83rd minute to make way for the introduction of Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer.

Notably, the goal scored on Tuesday marked Sharani’s first since joining Slovan from DAC Dunajska Streda in February this year.
