Zesco United knock Asante Kotoko out of the CAF Confed Cup

Asante Kotoko are out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 to Zesco United in Zambia on Sunday, comeback goals from Jackson Were and Mwape made sure they deny Kotoko qualification Into the next round.

CK Akonnor’s boys couldn’t find the back of the net in the first half, they missed a lot of chances to put themselves in front.

Asante Kotoko opened the scoring few minutes into the second half through Stephen Nyarko’s first touch of the game.

Zesco United responded in full force as they scored two goals in three minutes to sink Kotoko’s qualification hopes; Jackson Were tapped in from close range to give his side the equalizer before Mwape scored to put his team in front.

The African Campaign for CK Akonnor and his boys comes to an end and they will leave Zambia tomorrow to begin their journey back to Ghana.
