We’ve made good signings – Kotoko CEO George Amoako

Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko believes the club management have made good signings that will enable them to challenge for trophies in the upcoming season.

George Amoako was delighted with the performance of the new players that joined the club.

Luck, according to the CEO, is an essential component of football but that can only be relied on after the right things have been done.

“Luck counts in this work but before you can count on luck, you have to do the right thing. You should know what to do as the right thing before you ride on luck,” he explained.

“Some of us have been around for a long time and we know how Kotoko is managed. But last season, we didn’t have the luxury of time and for instance, some of us were not into club football for so we didn’t know too many players around.”

Highlighting what has been the difference in player recruitment this time compared to the previous season, the CEO said: “This year, we’ve had a whole season looking at other teams, other players and the players that were [picked] by the technical team for us to recruit.

“Today, everybody sees them playing and they’re amazed. They were carefully chosen for the various departments and we are only praying that it will continue like this. I am sure the applause you hear at the training ground from the supporters isn’t for George Amoako but rather, for the players who have been exhibiting their skills on the field and we can only be grateful to God”.

Asante Kotoko have signed several players as they prepare for the upcoming season, these players include Justice Blay Kelvin Andoh, Didi Arnauld Alexis, George Abege, Patrick Yeboah, Richard Arthur, Empem Dacosta, Kwame Baah, Kouyate, and Traore.
